Scope
The aim of the additional CA-EBS training is to complement initial and further offshore safety and emergency response training and assessment (i.e. T-BOSIET, T-HUET or T-FOET) for personnel travelling to an offshore oil and gas installation by helicopter (in a warm water tropical environment) when issued with a CA-EBS.

General Course Objectives:
During this course, delegates will gain the required knowledge and understanding of the particular hazards and properties of a Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS) and appropriate practical emergency response actions to take, should the requirement for emergency deployment arise.

Course Content:
During training, delegates will learn
  • Fundamentals of CA-EBS, differences from other EBS devices and their advantages & disadvantages.
  • The operation of CA-EBS equipment
  • Hazards associated with CA-EBS
  • Donning of and pre-donning checks of CA-EBS life jackets
  • How to deploy CA-EBS both in and out of water.

  • Valid medical certificate, valid BOSIET, T-BOSIET, FOET or T-FOET certificate
Certificate:
All persons who successfully complete the course based on the performance standards will receive
  • A PT Samson Tiara certificate approved by OPITO for CA-EBS Initial Deployment (5902); and
  • A laminated wallet course qualification card.
