Confined Space Entry - Mid Level - Kementrian Tenaga Kerja RI
Scope
Working within a confined space poses health and safety risks to workers, therefore adequate rules and procedures for entering and working in a confined space must be in place to protect both workers and assets.

Confined spaces can contain a number of dangers including toxic chemicals, flammable gas or vapor, smoke, dust, etc. In addition there are other dangers such as a lack of, or, over abundance of oxygen, extreme temperatures, engulfment, slippery surfaces, excessive noise and hard surfaces that can cause accidents or the death of workers in the confined space.

Accordingly, the rules laid out in Peraturan Khusus (Special Rule) L that govern working in a confined space are no longer relevant given the changes in technology and complexity of the industry at the moment. Therefore it is necessary for new regulations and guidelines to be issued that are clear and up-to-date with current industry practice.
